About Steven W. Kirchoff
Steve earned his degree in Architectural Design from St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute in St. Paul, MN. Steve worked as a draftsperson at Barr Engineering Company where, as part of a drafting team, he helped draft the plans for the 10th street Dam in St. Cloud, MN.
During the Vietnam War Steve enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent four years with the Seabees as an Engineering Aid. During this time, he designed buildings, surveyed job sites, managed quality control, and created Critical Path Methods (CPM) for projects his battalion was working on in the Pacific.
In the mid 1980s, Steve launched the Drafting and Design Department at Mathew Hall Lumber Company in St. Cloud, MN. Under Steve's guidance and supervision, MHLC's Drafting and Design Department grew from one designer (Steve) on a drafting board to five draftspeople on CAD.
In 2004, Steve started his own business as a residential designer in St. Cloud, As sole proprietor, Steve enjoys working one on one with his customers.
