Consulting with Steve
You have been sketching ideas and looked at hundreds of floor plans on the internet, but you can't find anything that is close to your dream home. You have so many ideas but you have never done this before and you're not sot sure where to start. That's when you should contact Steven W. Kirchoff.
Developing the Preliminary Design
After the first meeting, Steve will utilize the information gathered and start drawing the preliminary layout (conceptual layout) of your project. To keep the process moving, Steve will email you the preliminary layout (floor plans and exterior sketches of your project) to make sure he's on the right track.
After you approve the overall size and layout of your project, Steve will begin to refine the plan. He will rework the layout and exterior views of the home with greater accuracy than the first layout in the preliminary stage. During this process he will be asking for your input and emailing you updated layouts and exterior views with the changes you have given him along the way.
3D Modeling
Not everyone can visualize what their house is going to look like when they see the floor plans or elevations. That's why Steve offers virtual 3D images, because he feels it's important that you fully understand what your project is going to look like before construction starts. There have been many times customers have been spared major disappointment and frustration in the final project because they were able to virtually see what their house would look like before a single 2x4 is cut.
Drawing the Construction Document: The Final Step
When you are happy with the overall design and you give Steve your approval to move on to the final step of the process, he will begin drafting the construction documents. This is the most time consuming part of the process, where the sketches, floor plans, and elevations you and Steve have been working on are translated into the technical language of the contractor and builder.
